Blue Cross

Pets are at the heart of everything Blue Cross does. Each year, thousands of cats, dogs, small pets and horses turn to their animal hospitals, clinics and re-homing services for treatment and to find them the happy homes they deserve. Furthermore their Education and Behaviour Teams prepare future pet owners to take responsibility and look after their pets for life.

They care for more than 40,000 pets every year but they know it’s not enough - there are many more out there who still desperately need help. By 2020 they want to help 70,000 animals a year, and this is where your support will help.

Marine Conservation Society

The Marine Conservation Society is the UK’s leading marine charity. They work to ensure our seas are healthy, pollution free and protected.

Our seas are under threat - from pollution, over fishing and a lack of protection. There is too much being taken out, for example fish and oil - often using intensive or destructive techniques. There is also too much being put in - waste, pollution and damaging development.

The Marine Conservation Society aims to ensure:

  • There are more fish in healthier seas, improve the way wild fisheries and farms are managed and influence consumers and seafood businesses to be more responsible in their seafood buying choices.
  • Seas are cleaner, track the health of our seas, identify key sources of pollution and develop innovative solutions for preventing and cleaning it up.
  • Seas are better protected, improve marine management, secure more well-managed marine protected areas, recover, nurture and protect marine species and habitats, and track ocean recovery through research partnerships and citizen science.

The Woodland Trust

We all need trees. That's why The Woodland Trust has spent more than 45 years standing up for them and is the UK's largest woodland conservation charity.

Trees clean our air, they purify our soil and they nurture rare species. The Woodland Trust protects woods that are under threat and purchase vulnerable woods to safeguard them.

Ancient woods have been around for many centuries - long enough to develop into ecosystems that are rich, complex and irreplaceable. The Trust restores hundreds of devastated woodlands bringing them back from the brink.

They have have also created thousands of hectares of new woodland across the UK, and work with others to help them create new woods or enrich local landscapes with trees (including 250 community woods).

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF UK)

Also known as ‘Doctors Without Borders’ they have medical teams that act fast to save people’s lives in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics.

MSF often hits the headlines when an emergency dominates the news, such as an earthquake, tsunami or war. But they constantly deliver humanitarian aid projects, from disaster response to long-term medical heath care programmes which stretch over decades.

MSF achieves this by also maintaining an independent and integrated logistical supply chain which enables them to deliver medical assistance and a response to the needs of people - whoever and wherever they may be.

Further still their MSF Access Campaign is based in Geneva where they advocate for fairer access to medication by challenging the high cost of existing medicines and the absence of treatment for many of the diseases affecting their patients.

The scope and scale of our their work also gives them unique access to diseases, data and the reality of delivering care in extreme situations in deducing their own medical research. MSF works hard to improve the way they work and to share the results with others.
